crazy love words: I went running for the first... →
crazylovewords: I went running for the first time in six months. I’m hoping to start running 2-3 days per week. I’ve never been consistent in my running, and I don’t think I’ll ever be a “runner.” I don’t thrive on the high of a race, or of beating my best time. When I’ve run in the past, it has solely been about… I bitched and moaned all the way through this. It was not arduous. It was...

Nightmare
Irrational fears can have physiological effects. For example, I was woken up by the fact I was scratching and clawing at my own body from an extended dream involving bedbugs. Dear lord. They are worst things ever. There are none here (I have checked). I cannot yet go back to sleep; I am too paranoid, still, and my chest and side hurt, still. Skeeved out.

Tumblr Staff: A New Policy Against Self-Harm Blogs →
mohandasgandhi: shortformblog: staff: One of the great things about Tumblr is that people use it for just about every conceivable kind of expression. People being people, though, that means that Tumblr sometimes gets used for things that are just wrong. We are deeply committed to supporting and defending our users’ freedom of speech,… In which Tumblr takes a tough stand against a dangerous...

What Audra and I fight about
- Why was I running late and what was I doing that I shouldn’t have been doing. - Why didn’t she put away her clean laundry that I cleaned and have sitting in that basket for two weeks. - Who ate the damn last strawberry yogurt and why was it you.

Neil Gaiman: What today is... →
neil-gaiman: ”Well, when I changed schools, when I was a kid, my Dad made a point of telling me how much he had always looked forward to Presidents’ Day, when he was a boy, because it’s the law that on Presidents’ Day, the kids who go to school dressed as their favourite presidents get a big bag of candy.” Happy President’s Day! hearts & hugs, Mr. Nancy

What is Love
1- I wasn’t sure about Shilah when we brought her home. She is, still, half-blind, with mottled and cataract-covered eyes. Milky and blue, except where it is black. Her fur is calico and she is tiny and she is a proud little thing. If she does not like a thing, she will hiss. Swipe and bite too, but always she will hiss. Her near-blank eyes make it terrifying. We had her almost month and...

Audra doesn’t like the terms “high functioning” or “low functioning” when it comes to autism. Her experience, and now mine, is that words like these do not paint the whole picture of that child (which is an awesome picture, as it is) and create a class stratification, usually from outside society, parents, friends, and family. Kids aren’t awesome kids but...

“Two years ago, while delivering his State of the Union address, President Obama...”
– New York Times editorial (via curiousaleta) The strange thing is that he probably could have a formidable campaign without the PACs and he would then be a leading example for the people running after.  (via karamazov-alexei) Really? In this political climate, how is Obama supposed to beat his GOP...

We are watching Doctor Who. We have been watching since the start of Nine. We are at the end of “Journey’s End”. Audra is fanning her face and asking me, “We did they do that.” She is fanning her face and yelling, “This is too sad. I have too many emotions!” She is in the Club now.
